Increase the height or depth of our assets or move them further apart to ensure safe working clearances.
Relocating wires, poles, cables and more
As the needs of your business change, you may want to move or modify our infrastructure. We can help you plan and make these changes.
You can make a request to move our network assets. These include poles or replacing overhead wires with insulated or underground cables. Here are some of the reasons to move our assets.
Ensure workspaces and access areas meet lighting safety levels.
Find more space to expand your business property when it’s time to build.
Adapt to new spaces should you buy or sell parts of your business property.
Create fresh sightlines and landscapes unimpeded by power assets.
Moving an asset
The work required to relocate our assets could require significant planning and investment. Including:
- Trenching and boring
- Reinstating paths or roads
- Dismantling and relocating poles and overhead wires
- Relocating streetlights, or telecommunications equipment mounted on our poles
- Installing new network infrastructure
- Adding or changing connections to our network
- Possibly relocating or connecting substations apart from the ones you want to move
What to do next
Work with an ASP
Making changes to your existing supply will usually require the assistance of an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) to plan and carry out the work. All ASPs will need to follow our contestable works framework.
